"La Mujer de Fuego"

La Navidad llegó temprano para una centena de afortunados (incluyendome :) este pasado jueves, aquí en la ciudad de Orlando. Y es que el programa especial navideño del canal hispano Univisión, fue grabado en el mágico mundo de Disney con nada más y nada menos que “La Mujer de Fuego”. Así es, Olga Tañón con su gran sonrisa y contagiosa energía, recibió a los invitados que participaron como audiencia para su grabación del especial navideño dirigido por Emilio Estefán, que también hizo acto de precensia y saludó a los fans.

El tema al parecer de Univisión este año es “cumplir tus sueños” y por eso el sueño de un niño para las navidades se hizo realidad. El sueño del jóven fue que su madre conociera a Olga Tañon, pero nadie se espero que nuestra “Mujer del Fuego” nos tuviera otra sorpresa. La audiencia no tan solo gozó de un espectáculo navideño grabado, si no de también cantar en coro con Olga los famosos aguinaldos puertorriqueños.

Para cerrar la larga y calurosa noche con broche de oro, Samo, integrante del grupo musical Camila, acompañó a Olga en el escenario para cantar su nuevo sencillo “Ni una lágrima más”, un dueto sencillamente escalofriante y espectacular.

Ambos artistas se comportaron como verdaderas celebridades, tomándose fotos con el público y agradecidos por nuestra participación.

El 12 de diciembre no se podrán perder el especial navideño de Univisión ya que a lo mejor me verán bailando y gozando al ritmo del “trukuta trukuta” en la audiencia. Mira el siguiente video para gozar con Olga Tañon cantando aguinaldos puertorriqueños:

SURPRISE DAY #1 in Madrid

HispanoSphere Blog

Este pasado jueves tuve la gran oportunidad de entrevistar a dos talentosos periodistas que trabajan para el Orlando Sentinel (Alsy Acevedo y Victor Manuel Ramos).

Fue una experiencia verdaderamente inolvidable ya que fue la primera vez que senti ser periodista. Aun me duelen los brazos de tener que cargar solita todo el equipo de camara y tripode pero asi son los periodistas hoy en dia, asi que comence a practicar desde temprano. (Tambien Victor me ayudo cuando llegue :)

Quiero darle las gracias a ambos periodistas porque aparte de dar excelentes entrevistas dedicaron un tiempo de su ocupado dia para cooperar con este proyecto. :)

Los entreviste acerca de un nuevo blog que a penas cumplira dos años en la pagina cibernetica del Orlando Sentinel. Victor fue el creador del HispanoSphere Blog, un blog que se enfoca especificamente en la comunidad Hispana. A traves del tiempo el blog ha seguido incrementando en lectores y abarcando cada vez mas noticias.

Muy pronto podran saber mas acerca del blog cuando mi proyecto sea publicado en el nuevo website del NAHJ Parity Project. Tambien publicare aqui parte del proyecto para todos los interesados.

SiNfuL Colors.. ;)

Summer is finally here and one must be ready to head to the beach every chance we get!!! :)

This season is all about bright colors... and what better way to embrace that than having your toe nails pretty and bright to stand out at the beach??

...I know you couldn't possibly afford a pedicure every week or purchase a million different O.P.I nail polishes...don't worry, neither can I. That's why I found these awesome nail polishes that come in super bright and fun colors and are only $1.99. They are called Sinful Colors and you can get them at Walgreens (I haven't searched for them anywhere else). Slap a top shiny coat polish after you paint your toes and they look just like the ones the cute asian ladies do. Best part? In URGENT need of ideas for pranks!!!!

Today I come to you in desperate need for ideas to do a good prank!!! Turns out "the guys" at Univision have nothing better to do lately than to pull prank on us lovely ladies. The picture I have here is when they sacrificed my poor lunch box last night. That is the lunch box that holds the Nutella that I so nicely give to them everyweek, poor thing.

And then, there is tonight...tonight the lovely guys moved all of our cars to the farthest darkest creepiest place in the parking lot. I swear I was about to cry when I thought my car got stolen, but then I saw the concerned look on the producer's face and selfishly I thought: "Shit, at least it wasn't only my car." hahaha

Anywhooos...back to me asking for advice. I need you guys to give me ideas on how I can get these guys back! Now, they are very smart and sneaky, I mean, they took our keys, moved our cars, came back and all while we thought they were "working". So let me know of your best ideas, we gotta get em goooood!!

6 TIPS during Final Exams!!

Final Examination period is coming up and this only means lots of stress, no sleep, and lots of coffee!! I thought you might want to read these tips to ease your way into your final exams. I know I will be reading over these to calm myself down beginning next week! haha Good Luck to everyone!! Go Knights!!

1. Avoid stressful people.

Stress actually is contagious. During exam week, resist the urge to have a study session with your super-tense friend, especially if she’s complaining about all the work she has to do and breaking pencils all over the place. Her stress will only add to your stress.

2. Eat healthy and exercise.

This seems like a no-brainer, but it’s a wonder how many people forget it. Skip the sugar, which will make you crash, and go for snacks like granola bars, healthy cereal or fruits and veggies to keep your blood sugar stable. If you’re studying for a long period of time, eat some protein too. Also, try to get some form of exercise. Even a 10 minute walk will leave you calmer and more focused.

3. Just say NO.

I don’t mean to drugs, although I’m not recommending them or anything. What you need to say no to are the people who want to take up your time. There will probably be a friend who needs to talk to you for hours about her life, or a keg party the night before your final, and if you say yes, you’ll probably be tempted to blow off studying. Resist the urge. Say no to the distractions and be selfish for a day. You want a good GPA, right?

4. Force yourself to take breaks.

For every hour or so that you work, take a 10 or 15 minute break. Let yourself do whatever you want (check Facebook, check out that guy sitting nearby, stare off into space, call a friend, etc.) for those 10-15 mins, then start working again. This gives your brain a little rest and will help keep you more focused when you are actually doing work.

5. Visualize it all going right.

This is actually my favorite tip of all, even though it sounds kind of nuts. Imagine yourself taking the test and feeling confident that you know all the information. Picture getting all of the answers right, and focus on how relaxed you feel. Then picture the A on your test paper. When you imagine a happy ending, that’s often what happens, because you make the decisions that lead to it without even realizing.

6. If you’ve studied all you can, get up your confidence!

When test-time rolls around, it’s time to get yourself into confidence mode. You’ve prepared as much as you could, and now it’s time to ace the test. The tip here is to do whatever works to convince yourself you are going to do really well. Again, I know this tip sounds a little crazy but you just have to try it for yourself. I think you’ll like the results.

Mira el nuevo video de Shakira GIPSY AQUI!!! UUUUUffffff...esas escenas con papisongo español Rafael Nadal, el 3er mejor jugador de tennis en el mundo, estan intensas!! jaja Hasta hoy que vi el video no habia escuchado la cancion. Aunque ultimamente Shakira no esta en mi lista de artistas preferidos (sigo siendo fanatica de la Shakira en "Donde estan los ladrones") debo admitir que la cancion tiene un ritmo pegajoso. Ella luce mas espectacular que nunca con un cuerpazaso y un pelo dorado precioso. Pero Shakira, no sigas intentando de imitar a alguien, nos encantabas tal y como eras torpe y testaruda!! :)

Daddy your getting a little too repetitive!! Alejandro Fernandez was just amazing y David Bisbal es otro muñeco mas. Pee Wee...I'm sorry, pero es que you just don't convince me. Your performance is that of a bad imitation of MJ and Justin Timberlake. Aventura is one of my favs after I went to their concert. Romeeeoo!! lol They came out winning the most premios en toda la noche (5!!!!) So Congrats to all the artists that won. Casi todos eran muy bien merecidos, otros pues sabemos que un chequecito pago por el premio *cough* Thalia *cough* pero in the end it was a GREAT Show!!!
